Wow that was fast!  It truly feels like yesterday was the July 4th holiday.  Today we're stocking coolers for the upcoming Labor Day Weekend, WTF!

Tonight we have DJ Doug and Hannaniah Whitley in the Cabaret.  Sunday is the first ever Tea Dance at the Dunes Pool 4-9p... WET TEA!

Labor Day Weekend begins on Thursday 9/3 and finishes up on Labor Day Monday 9/7:

Thursday:  Karaoke

Friday:  DJ Ralphi Rosario, Men of Manwatch & The Dunes Divas in the Cabaret

Saturday:  Pool DJ Doug, PM DJ Hector Fonseca, Amy & Freddy in the Cabaret

Sunday Early Tea DJ Doug, Main Tea DJ Tony Moran, Men of Manwatch @ Tea,
Kelly & Rick in the Cabaret

Monday Tea DJ Doug 4-10p

As many know we have a group that takes over the property beginning Tuesday 9/8.. so the Dunes Pool and Grounds are closed to the public till Thursday 9/17.  That means the main bar is open only.  There is no Karaoke on 9/10 or Tea on 9/13.. everything back to normal beginning 9/17.

The Lambda Car Club invades on Friday 9/18 and brings an amazing car show open to the public on Saturday afternoon 9/19.  Dog Pound Tea is the Sunday 9/20 event benefiting Wishbone Pet Rescue.

Mr. Michigan Leather Weekend is 9/24 - 9/27 (with Country Western Tea on Sunday)

The Fall Women's Weekend is October 1 - 4 and we'll  be featuring Melissa Ferrick in the Cabaret on Saturday 10/3

October 31st.  I left for Florida on Wednesday and Lucky and I drove to Dalton, GA.. got up Thursday and he and I made it to Lauderdale around 9pm last night.  Car wash, grocery and liquor store and now I'm hiding in the back of our tiny house here in Victory Park trying to avoid  notice for any trick or treater, how sad is that? It's officially Fall at the Dunes.  Euchre and Pot Luck on Thursday, Karaoke on Friday, Music Videos on Saturday and Bingo on Sunday.  Monday we go to "winter" hours.. Mon - Thurs 2-10p, F&S 9a-2a and Sunday 9a-10p.  Can't believe how quick April - October went.  It's a reminder how quick life goes by - as I sit in the dark and hide in the back room (should rethink that, right?).  We really should get up everyday and do as much as we can before we go back to bed in the PM..  one day your 30 and then all of sudden your almost 50.. and I'm thinking that maybe I spent too many nights staying in and readying books. 3 people have called today to ask if we've bought the Kalico (the "country kitchen" across the street)... the answer continues to be NO.  We've endured lots of rumors over the years, selling the Dunes, turning the Dunes into a retirement village, breaking up, breaking up, and then breaking up.. some rumors have us all broke up and already with new romances and all 6 living under the same roof (sounds complicated).. but this rumor that we've bought the Kalico seems to have it's own energy source.  NO we did not, nor do we plan on buying the Kalico Kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a family member ask for $$ recently.  Is that not one of the absolutely worst positions to be put in?  Because what is the answer.  Its' not like your mom or dad needs money.. it's family.  If yes, what is your limit?  If no, are you just being a jerk? I also assume that when you loan anyone money, you are giving them money.. don't hold your breath that you'll ever get it ba

Technology is crazy!  I bought one of those Jawbone UP bracelets.  And then it syncs with an app called My Fitness Pal.  You leave the UP bracelet on all day (except in the shower) and it keeps track of your movements as well as your sleep patterns.  The goal is 10,000 steps a day and it keeps track and texts you when you've sat too long, or you are really moving - constantly giving you up dates.  The Fitness Pal app lets you scan bar codes of food, or manually enter.  You pre-program if you want to loose, gain or maintain weight... it tells you how many calories you need.  If you enter everything you consume in the day, along with how much activity your getting on UP.. it tells you how you did for the day.  It also monitors your sleeping.
