Time flies when your having fun, right?

It's May 26 and the summer kicker, Memorial Day Weekend, has come and gone.  It's a blurr.. but in a good way.  The weather was OKAY, not good, not bad.. had better, had worse!  Great crowds helped us usher in a new season.   The Dunes is 34 and Danny, Mike and Greg have welcome their 17th summer season (year 16) -- again, time does fly!

Friday kicked off with DJ Doug, the Men of Manwatch and Hannaniah Whitley in the Cabaret.
Saturday was our opening day at the pool and the weather was perfect!  In the PM, we welcomed DJ Tristan Jaxx to the DJ Booth for the first time, with Kelly Carey and Rick SantaMaria in the Cabaret.
Sunday was the first big Tea of the year with DJ Doug starting things off and getting it primed for DJ GRIND to rock the house!!  Amy and Freddy kept a full house in the Cabaret.
Monday was the final tea of the Weekend, Memorial Day Tea with DJ BearMan.

Now, let the games begin!!

The Dunes Pool and Pool Bar (Splash) are now open every day!!  The Blue Frog is serving food Thursday - Monday and the Main bar is of course open daily 9am - 2am.
Karaoke every Thursday and Tea Dance every Sunday.
Keep an eye out for the new much needed redesign of the Dunes Website.. this week.....

October 31st.  I left for Florida on Wednesday and Lucky and I drove to Dalton, GA.. got up Thursday and he and I made it to Lauderdale around 9pm last night.  Car wash, grocery and liquor store and now I'm hiding in the back of our tiny house here in Victory Park trying to avoid  notice for any trick or treater, how sad is that? It's officially Fall at the Dunes.  Euchre and Pot Luck on Thursday, Karaoke on Friday, Music Videos on Saturday and Bingo on Sunday.  Monday we go to "winter" hours.. Mon - Thurs 2-10p, F&S 9a-2a and Sunday 9a-10p.  Can't believe how quick April - October went.  It's a reminder how quick life goes by - as I sit in the dark and hide in the back room (should rethink that, right?).  We really should get up everyday and do as much as we can before we go back to bed in the PM..  one day your 30 and then all of sudden your almost 50.. and I'm thinking that maybe I spent too many nights staying in and readying books. 3 people have called today to ask if we've bought the Kalico (the "country kitchen" across the street)... the answer continues to be NO.  We've endured lots of rumors over the years, selling the Dunes, turning the Dunes into a retirement village, breaking up, breaking up, and then breaking up.. some rumors have us all broke up and already with new romances and all 6 living under the same roof (sounds complicated).. but this rumor that we've bought the Kalico seems to have it's own energy source.  NO we did not, nor do we plan on buying the Kalico Kitchen!!!!!!!!!!!! I had a family member ask for $$ recently.  Is that not one of the absolutely worst positions to be put in?  Because what is the answer.  Its' not like your mom or dad needs money.. it's family.  If yes, what is your limit?  If no, are you just being a jerk? I also assume that when you loan anyone money, you are giving them money.. don't hold your breath that you'll ever get it ba

Technology is crazy!  I bought one of those Jawbone UP bracelets.  And then it syncs with an app called My Fitness Pal.  You leave the UP bracelet on all day (except in the shower) and it keeps track of your movements as well as your sleep patterns.  The goal is 10,000 steps a day and it keeps track and texts you when you've sat too long, or you are really moving - constantly giving you up dates.  The Fitness Pal app lets you scan bar codes of food, or manually enter.  You pre-program if you want to loose, gain or maintain weight... it tells you how many calories you need.  If you enter everything you consume in the day, along with how much activity your getting on UP.. it tells you how you did for the day.  It also monitors your sleeping. You tell it you are going to bed, it records how long it took you to fall asleep, how long you are in deep sleep, how long you are in light sleep, how many times you woke up.  You tell it when you are awake and getting out of bed.  Technology is
