THE DUNES RESORT HELPS TO MAKE WISHES COME TRUE THROUGH FUNDRAISER FOR MAKE-A-WISH®  MICHIGAN.

October 9, 2012 – Members, guests, neighbors and friends from the Dunes Resort in Saugatuck & Douglas are coming together for the “Wishes & Dreams Come True” Show & Silent Auction on Saturday October 20, 2012 9:30pm, to help raise funds for Make-A-Wish Michigan – a nonprofit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses. 

The Annual October Make-A-Wish Show brings together the states best in Female Impersonation and generous donations from area businesses for a drag show and silent auction.  Entertainer tips, door cover ($5) and monies raised during the silent auction help to grant a wish to a child in need.

“This event continues to be one of the highlights of the year and we have been fortunate in the past to help grant partial & full wishes to a multitude of children - all because our community comes out in support of this great organization. It’s a guaranteed great Show and the local business community is always so generous in their offerings for the silent auction.  How can you say no to a child in need,” asks Mike Jones, one of the owners of the Dunes.

The Dunes Resort is the Midwest’s Largest GLBT Resort & Entertainment Complex located in Saugatuck/Douglas, MI.  For over 30 years the Dunes has been involved in raising money for a variety of local, regional and national organizations.

October 31st.  I left for Florida on Wednesday and Lucky and I drove to Dalton, GA.. got up Thursday and he and I made it to Lauderdale around 9pm last night.  Car wash, grocery and liquor store and now I'm hiding in the back of our tiny house here in Victory Park trying to avoid  notice for any trick or treater, how sad is that? It's officially Fall at the Dunes.  Euchre and Pot Luck on Thursday, Karaoke on Friday, Music Videos on Saturday and Bingo on Sunday.  Monday we go to "winter" hours.. Mon - Thurs 2-10p, F&S 9a-2a and Sunday 9a-10p.  Can't believe how quick April - October went.  It's a reminder how quick life goes by - as I sit in the dark and hide in the back room (should rethink that, right?).  We really should get up everyday and do as much as we can before we go back to bed in the PM..  one day your 30 and then all of sudden your almost 50.. and I'm thinking that maybe I spent too many nights staying in and readying books. ...

Christmas In July

Over the weekend at The Dunes Resort , we celebrated Christmas in July, one of our most anticipated weekends of the year.  Christmas in July 2017 was our best ever.  This festive weekend brings a devout group of regulars, as well as many first time guests.    The Dunes Resort Pool We at The Dunes have been lucky to see the same faces over the course of decades.  We hear time and time again from guests’ visiting Saugatuck-Douglas that their best experiences come from meeting new people from all over the country . The weekend kicked off on  Friday with acclaimed resident DJ, Doug Roberts , as he lit up the dance floor and world class cabaret performers,  Kelly and Rick , bringing down the house in the cabaret.  The Dunes provides a powerhouse of talent, and this weekend they delivered one hell of a show after another. What's new at the Dunes Resort

Hard to believe that today is July 16th. Yesterday was Memorial Day, I'm sure of it.  July 4th came and went and I'm afraid that tomorrow will be Labor Day.  This summer more than ever has FLOWN by so fast.  So fast that I'm not sure any of us are really into the summer groove yet.  About the time we get it down it will be time to plan costumes for Halloween. The weather has super.  Despite some not so good forecast, we've had an amazing first 1/2 of summer.  Hot and dry, make for some great pool days! Memorial Day, if I remember.. was great.  I do remember the weather was good as where the crowds. July 4th weekend we had our busiest day ever on Sunday July 3rd..  and wow what a weekend. The Employee Turnabout Show on Thursday July 7th we raised $3000 for Wishbone Pet Rescue, Eastern Michigan's Equality Resource Center and Equality Florida's Orlando Shooting's Fund. We've started up our weekly Wednesday Pool Cooks (5:30-7) and Bingo (6-8...
